I became a professional Developmental Line Editor in 2022, after already having written and given creative feedback for much of my life. I've also have been publishedโwriting, illustration, and photography.
[memoir] by Cheryl Lawson
Developmental Line Editor
I got an email from the lovely Bailly Morse 2025, referring Cheryl to me, saying she needed an empathetic editor for her very personal memoir. After a few email exchanges, Cheryl said she felt like I already knew her and what she wanted. We had wonderful resonance during out video chat, and she allowed me the honor of doing a full developmental line edit of her manuscript. Cheryl is a great author, who I now also call a friend. I was grateful to hear that she liked my work: "You are AMAZING!!!"
Doubtful to Decisive by Monica Leggett
Developmental Line Editor
Monica and I worked together for quite some time on ๐ Doubtful to Decisive, published January 16, 2024. When we started in April of 2023 I had some developmental feedback she wanted to implement on her manuscript before I got deeper into my edit.
I'm so glad that Monica selected me from the publisher's editor pool. It was wonderful to work with Bailly Morse as Project Manager again, and she offered great support throughout the process. Monica and I worked directly a lot, which allowed us to brainstorm real time, which I found I prefer.
Working with Monica

Once she was finished, I did a developmental line edit, and we really enjoyed working together. I even created a custom handwriting font for the charts, and some graphic elements you can find on the pages of her book.

I really enjoy it when an author brings their lived experience to their writing, and that's exactly what Monica did her. Her process is wonderful for anyone who feels stuck, and I've used it myself in my own life. I especially like her story on moving to a new house and how she worked through it using her own steps.

This awesome cover was designed by Nelly Murariu of PixBeeDesign. When Monica sent me some earlier designs, I offered feedback on the pose of the figure on the right. After I sent Monica a visual mockup showing how the pose could reflect the decisiveness of the figure, she passed it onto Nelly and voila! Monica and I joked that they look like they're doing a disco move in their excitement to finally be decisive!
Human Beings First by Paul E. Wolfe
Line Editor
I enjoyed working with Paul on the line edit for ๐ Human Beings First, published March 8, 2023. When I started in 2022 I was drawn to the title, as I have always believed putting humans first can get more of us where we want to go. His book is a mix of advice and stories from his own work putting it into practice.
